Caipirinha

Ingredients:
  • Cachaça, 200 ml,
  • Golden caster sugar, 6 tbsp,
  • Lime, 2,
  • Ice, 2 handfuls,
Method:
  • Step 1, Put the lime wedges and sugar in a jug or a large pestle and mortar. Muddle the mix to get as much juice from the wedges as possible, creating a syrup. Once done remove the lime peel.
  • Step 2, Divide the syrup and cachaça between four glasses and with the crushed ice.

Caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça, sugar, and lime.

Classic Margarita

Ingredients:
  • Tequila, 35ml,
  • Triple Sec, 20ml,
  • Lime Juice, 35ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
  • Lime Wedge, 1,
  • Kosher Salt, To coat glass rim,
Method:
  • Step 1, Mix the Tequila, Triple sec and lime juice into a cocktail shaker.
  • Step 2, Add the ice cubes and shake for 10-15 seconds.
  • Step 3, Salt the rim of a glass
  • Step 4, Pour your cocktail into your glass.
  • Step 5, Add a lime wedge on the rim by way of garnish.

The classic margarita is a favourite of many. Here at Jiggr, when ever we are in a new bar we always order a margarita, we use it to gauge of how good a bar is. When done well, it's very hard to beat a classic margarita. 

Daiquiri

Ingredients:
  • Lime Juice, 30 ml,
  • White Rum, 60 ml,
  • Sugar syrup, 20 ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Add the ingredients and ice to your cocktail shaker
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Step 3, Garnish with a lime slice

The daiquiri is a classic rum based sour drink. Like the martini and margarita it has also developed into a subfamily of drinks that include fruit and frozen varieties.

Dark n' Stormy

Ingredients:
  • Dark rum, 50ml,
  • Lime, 1 ,
  • Brown sugar, 1 1/2 tsp,
  • Ginger beer, Splash,
Method:
  • Step 1, Muddle (crush) 4 lime quarters add the brown sugar.
  • Step 2, Add the dark rum, fill with ice and shake.
  • Step 3, Strain into a glass of fresh ice and top up with ginger beer

Gimlet

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • Lime Cordial, 50 ml,
  • Lime, 1 slice,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Pour the gin and cordial into a jug or tall glass. Add a few ice cubes. Stir.
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a slice of lime.

Rumoured to have been created to assist in the prevention of scurvy on English Naval ships as officers weren't taking their rations of lime for their much needed vitamin C. 

We have to agree with the navy. We'd much prefer a gimlet over straight lime any day. 

Ginger Limeade

Ingredients:
  • Lemonade, 180 ml,
  • Fresh Ginger Root, 1 thumb,
  • Lime Juice, 20 ml,
  • Ice, ,
Method:
  • Step 1, Slice the ginger finely and muddle in a mixer with the lime juice.
  • Step 2, Shake
  • Step 3, Pour over ice and top up with the lemonade
  • Step 4, Garnish with a slice of lime

Key Punch

Ingredients:
  • Dark rum, 50 ml,

Method:
  • Step 1, Fill your glass 3/4 of the way with crushed ice
  • Step 2, Mix ingredients and add to your glass

Ingredients:
  • Sugar Syrup, 130ml,
  • Angostura bitters, 15ml,
  • Soda Water, 120ml,
  • Lime, 30ml and a Wedge,

Method:
  • Step 1, Shake all ingredients, besides the soda water, in a shaker with ice until the shaker feels cold.
  • Step 2, Pour into a glass with ice, add the soda water.

Long Island Iced Tea

Ingredients:
  • Vodka, 50 ml,
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • White Rum, 50 ml,
  • Tequila Reposado, 50 ml,
  • Triple Sec, 50 ml,
  • Cola, 500 ml,
  • Lime Juice, 100ml,
  • Lime, 2,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Combine the vodka, gin, tequila, rum and triple sec in a large jug, and add lime juice to taste. Add the ice and stir.
  • Step 2, Add the cola, lime wedges and stir. Pour into tall glasses and enjoy.

A Long Island iced tea is a type of alcoholic mixed drink typically made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin, and cola.

Moscow Mule

Ingredients:
  • Vodka, 50 ml,
  • Crushed Ice, 1 handful,
  • Ginger beer, 150 ml,
  • Angostura Bitters, 2 dashes,
  • Mint, 1 sprig,
  • Lime, 1 wedge,
Method:
  • Step 1, Pour the vodka into a metal mug or tumbler.
  • Step 2, Add crushed ice to the mug or tumbler until it is 3/4 full.
  • Step 3, Fill to the top with the ginger beer and stir
  • Step 4, add the ginger bitters and garnish with the mint and lime

A spicy warming winter cocktail, it's easy to make and in our opinion an underrated star of the cocktail world. 

Southside

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50ml,
  • Lime juice, 20ml,
  • Sugar syrup, 15ml,
  • Mint, 1 handful,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Shake the gin, lime juice, mint leaves and sugar syrup with ice in your mixer, until the outside of your mixer feels cold.
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled glass.

Sparkling Pom Collins

Ingredients:
  • Pomegranate Juice, 60 ml,
  • Soda Water, 30 ml,
  • Pomegranate Seeds, 1 handful,

Method:
  • Step 1, Set the soda water and ice to one side, mix the rest of the ingredients in a shaker.
  • Step 2, Pour over the ice and add the soda water.
