Black Martini

Ingredients:

  • Blackberry brandy, 15 ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,

Bramble

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 40ml,
  • Sugar Syrup, 20ml,
  • Lemon juice, 20ml,
  • Blackberry Liqueur, 10ml,
  • Blackberries, Several,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Shake the gin with the lemon and sugar syrup.
  • Step 2, Pour over crushed ice and drizzle with the Blackberry Liqueur
  • Step 3, Serve with a couple of berries

Elderflower collins

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50ml,
  • Elderflower Cordial, 10ml,
  • Soda water, to top up,
  • Sugar syrup, 10ml,
  • Lemon Juice, 20ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Shake the gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and elderflower cordial with ice.
  • Step 2, Pour over ice and top up with soda water.

Elderflower Royale

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50ml,
  • Elderflower Cordial, 10ml,
  • Sparkling wine or Champagne, Prosecco etc..., to top up,
  • Sugar syrup, 10ml,
  • Lemon Juice, 20ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Shake the gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and elderflower cordial with ice.
  • Step 2, Pour over ice and top up with sparkling wine

Similar to the Elderflower Collins, this version is topped up with sparkling wine, making it a little bit more special. 

French 75

Ingredients:
  • Champagne, Splash,
  • Gin, 50ml,
  • Lemon juice, 1 tbsp,
  • Lemon zest, zest,
  • Sugar syrup, 1 tsp,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Add the lemon juice, sugar syrup and gin into a cocktail shaker then fill with ice.
  • Step 2, Shake then strain into a champagne flute. Top with a little champagne, then garnish with a strip of lemon zest.

The French 75 cocktail was originally created at the New York Bar in Paris in 1915. This sparkling cocktail is perfect any time of the day! 

Gimlet

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • Lime Cordial, 50 ml,
  • Lime, 1 slice,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Pour the gin and cordial into a jug or tall glass. Add a few ice cubes. Stir.
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a slice of lime.

Rumoured to have been created to assist in the prevention of scurvy on English Naval ships as officers weren't taking their rations of lime for their much needed vitamin C. 

We have to agree with the navy. We'd much prefer a gimlet over straight lime any day. 

Gin & It

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 30 ml,
  • Rosso Vermouth, 30 ml,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Half fill your glass with ice, add the ingredients and stir.

Sometimes referred to as a sweat martini, the Gin & It cocktail has been enjoyed for over 100 years on both sides of the pond, originating in New York and finding its way to the UK. 

Gin Martini

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 60 ml, xgin
  • Vermouth (dry), 1 tbsp,
  • Olive, 1,
  • Lemon, 1 peel twist,
  • Ice, 2-3 cubes,
Method:
  • Step 1, Mix the ingredients and a little ice together.
  • Step 2, Strain into a glass and add the olive and lemon twist to garnish

Long Island Iced Tea

Ingredients:
  • Vodka, 50 ml,
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • White Rum, 50 ml,
  • Tequila Reposado, 50 ml,
  • Triple Sec, 50 ml,
  • Cola, 500 ml,
  • Lime Juice, 100ml,
  • Lime, 2,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Combine the vodka, gin, tequila, rum and triple sec in a large jug, and add lime juice to taste. Add the ice and stir.
  • Step 2, Add the cola, lime wedges and stir. Pour into tall glasses and enjoy.

Modern Martinez

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • Vermouth, 40 ml,
  • Triple sec, 8 ml,
  • Angostura Bitters, 1 dash,
  • Orange/Lemon, Peel twist,
  • Ice, 1 handful,
Method:
  • Step 1, Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, filled halfway with ice. Stir.
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled Martini glass. Garnish with a lemon or orange twist.

Often described as the precursor to the martini, the martinez is as elegant as the martini and has enough character to stand alone. This modern twist on the classic martinez uses gin. 

Negroni

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 25ml,
  • Vermouth , 25ml,
  • Campari, 25ml,
  • Ice, Two handfuls,
Method:
  • Step 1, Pour the gin, vermouth and Campari into a mixing glass or jug with ice.
  • Step 2, Pour into a glass and add some fresh ice. Garnish with an orange slice.

Southside

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50ml,
  • Lime juice, 20ml,
  • Sugar syrup, 15ml,
  • Mint, 1 handful,

  • Step 1, Shake the gin, lime juice, mint leaves and sugar syrup with ice in your mixer, until the outside of your mixer feels cold.
  • Step 2, Strain into a chilled glass.

Tom Collins

Ingredients:
  • Gin, 50 ml,
  • Lemon juice, 25 ml,

  • Step 1, Mix the ingredients with plenty of ice in a Collins glass and stir.
  • Step 2, Garnish with a lemon slice

The  ‘ Vesper Martini ‘ is the famous drink that is ordered by James Bond in both the book and the movie Casino Royale.

The fame of the Vesper Martini is a direct result of it being featured in Casino Royale and while Bond drank other cocktails, his desire for his Martini to be "shaken not stirred" has, we are sure, become a cringe statement ensured by bar staff the world over. 

So whether or not you decide to shake or stir, this cocktail has to be on everyones cocktail bucket list.
