The Mojito is the national drink of Cuba. This rum based cocktail conjures up images of Caribbean pirates and is best enjoyed on a hot summer day me hearties!


  • Preparation time
    5 mins


  • White Rum

    60 ml
  • Lime

    Juice of one lime
  • Granulated sugar

    1 tsp
  • Mint

    1 handful
  • Soda water

    to taste

Glass type


  • Step 1

    Add the lime juice, sugar and mint to a shaker, muddle (crush) the mint as you mix. If you don't have a muddled, you can use the handle of a knife, pestle or something like a small rolling pin.
  • Step 2

    Pour into a tall glass and add the ice.
  • Step 3

    Pour in the rum and stir. Top up with soda water.
