Irish Coffee

Irish coffee is a cocktail consisting of hot coffee, Irish whiskey, and sugar, stirred, and topped with cream. The coffee is drunk through the cream.

Irish Coffee

  • Preparation time
    5 mins


  • Whisky (Irish Whiskey of course)

    50 ml
  • Double cream

    2 tbsp
  • Freshly brewed black coffee

    150 ml
  • Brown sugar

    1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg


Glass type


  • Step 1

    Whip the cream, then set aside.
  • Step 2

    Pour the hot coffee into a mug/heatproof glass, add the whiskey and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  • Step 3

    Carefully add the cream on the top (so it floats) and sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve hot.
